China Headhunting Services

As China’s economy continues to expand, competition for highly-qualified Chinese professionals will intensify. Pacific Bridge, Inc. (PBI) has experienced Chinese headhunters who can find the right candidates for your company.

The pool of candidates in China comprises the local Chinese, Chinese returnees and expatriates (expats). Expats are often familiar with international companies’ corporate culture. However, they generally expect high compensation packages, and may have problems relating to the local Chinese workforce. Chinese returnees are those who have studied or worked in the West, and want to return or have already returned to China for good job opportunities.  Besides speaking Chinese, returnees generally speak English and are usually familiar with Western business practices. However, returnees may conflict with the local staff, since they often expect higher salaries and quicker promotions than the locals. Qualified local Chinese with work experiences at Western companies in China are also not easy to recruit, since they are in high demand. Most local Chinese do not speak much English and lack an understanding of Western corporate business practices.

There is a large income gap in China between the cities and the countryside: urban residents' average income is about $4,000 annually, whereas rural residents make about $1,100 annually.  Despite these relatively low wages, white collar local Chinese who speak English and have good experiences at Western companies in China earn between $20,000 and $150,000 per year. PBI’s China headhunters can assist international companies with effective salary benchmarking.

China’s pension system is based on the World Bank’s Three Pillar Model. The first pillar is government sponsored.  It entails a basic old-age insurance fund, similar to US Social Security system. The second pillar is an enterprise annuity scheme. It is a voluntary system similar to the 401(K) system in the United States.  The third pillar is individual savings and investment. Many FIEs in China encourage individual savings accounts or set up additional private pension plans for employees. International companies looking to expand their workforce in China can turn to PBI’s headhunters to help navigate through these HR and pension matters.
