What types of positions does Pacific Bridge offer?
Pacific Bridge, Inc. receives both headhunting assignments and job listings
from companies in a variety of fields. Generally, companies who use our
service are looking for bilingual, bicultural candidates, willing to
work in Asia, with specialties in areas such as IT, engineering, management,
and other technical and business disciplines.
2.
I don't want to receive spam or unsolicited e-mail advertisements.
Will PBI send me unwanted messages?
Using the information you provide during the registration process, including
your areas of expertise and language spoken, PBI will send you targeted
job announcements for specific positions in which we feel you may have
an interest. PBI will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose,
nor will we give your address to anyone outside our company.
3.
I'm interested in a position I found listed on the PBI website. How
can I apply?
Each job listing on our website is assigned a code number. To apply
for a position, send an e-mail with the job code number in the subject
line to jobseeker@pacificbridge.com or
the address in the job listing. You may also fax your resume to 301-469-3409.
4.
How should I format my resume?
Special care should be taken in creating an electronic resume, as special
formatting may be lost when files are translated from one format to another.
For best results, send your resume as a plain text (.txt) or portable
document format (.pdf) file. You may also attach your resume to an e-mail
using MS Word or any other word processing software. For more information
on formatting your resume, see our resume tips page. See our resume tips page.
5.
How can I tell if a particular job is a regular online advertisement
or a headhunting project?
When you search for jobs, you will find two types of online ads: those
that list the employer's name and those that are anonymous. Anonymous
job listings are most likely the result of headhunting assignments; employers
involved in headhunting projects often wish to remain unidentified. Regular
online advertisements will generally include the employer's name. Please
note that many employers in Asia prefer not to include their company
names in their job listings.
6.
Who will contact me about my status for a particular job opening?
Depending on if you answer a headhunting or regular online advertisement,
either the potential employer or PBI will contact you if you are being
considered for a position. Employers only interested in recruiting online
via advertisements will be responsible for contacting you after you have
e-mailed your resume to PBI with the proper code number. In the case
of headhunting assignments (usually job listings without the company
name), PBI personnel will contact you directly if you meet the qualifications
the employer has given to PBI.
7.
How confidential is the information I send?
We guarantee that all of the information you provide on our website
or in your resume will be used solely for recruiting purposes. None of
the information that you provide will be divulged to outside companies
except for employers of positions you specifically apply for.
8.
I applied for a position by sending my resume and cover letter to
the appropriate recruiter in the job description. I received a confirmation
that my application was received. I have not heard from PBI since
then, what should I do?
When PBI receives resumes and cover letters from our applicants, we
carefully screen the information and match their qualifications to our
client’s requirements. If your qualifications are found to be a
match to our client’s needs, we will contact you again very shortly.
If your qualifications are not a match to our client’s needs, we
will enter your resume into our database for future matches with other
clients. You will be contacted in the future through email alerts notifying
you of job openings that are in line with your qualifications.
9.
I am interested in applying for a position in your job listings.
I have previously sent you my resume and cover letter for another
job posting and I am currently in your resume database. Do I need
to send you my resume and cover letter again for the new job position?
It is best to send us a new resume and cover letter each time you are
applying for a new job position. The reason is that it is often necessary
to revise your resume and cover letter so that your application is appropriate
to the job requirements stated in the job description. A tailored resume
will look more professional and attractive to our client and will increase
your chances of being noticed. Although PBI already has your contact
information and resume in our database, any new resumes you submit will
be added to our files as an update to your earlier submissions.
10.
How do I know if the jobs in your listing
are closed for application or are still open?
All jobs that are listed in our job listing are current and are still
open for application. If you are interested in applying for any jobs
on our listing, please send your resume and cover letter to the appropriate
recruiter stated in the job description.
