01/3/2011 | Income Tax for Foreign Nationals in India
QUESTION:
If I work in India as a foreign national, is my income still taxed in India?
REPLY:
Yes, it is. As of December 2009, expatriates must pay local Indian taxes on any money they earn while in the country. However, once they have paid local taxes, no additional tax will be levied if the expatriate takes his/her income out of India.
