How do the costs of living in Asia’s major cities compare?

According to Employment Conditions Abroad (ECA), four of Japan’s cities (Tokyo, Nagoya, Yokohama, and Kobe) were ranked in the top ten most expensive cities in the world in 2010. Tokyo was ranked number one. Seoul and Busan were South Korea’s most expensive cities, ranked 20 and 75, respectively. Hong Kong, ranked 34th, was the most expensive city in China, followed by Shanghai (46) and Beijing (55). Taipei claimed the 85th spot. Singapore ranked 67th, while Indonesia’s most expensive city, Jakarta, claimed the 121st position.
