Responsibilities:
- Manage the footwear testing lab in Taiwan.
- Primarily work with Innovation in developing new test methods and standards for our new technologies.
- Supports product development tests and manage the relationship with two of our largest factory groups (based in Taiwan): rolling out test methods to factories, ensuring testing consistency across suppliers and factories
- Manage a program to test models based on country-specific test requirements.
- Interact with other functions (Materials, Manufacturing, Product Testing, Categories, Innovation) in Taiwan and in other countries
Education & Industry Exposure:
- Minimum of Bachelor degree with background in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Biomechanics.
- At least 5 years of testing experience or combination of 3 years of testing experience and 3 years in an engineering environment involving test design, data collection, data analysis, equipment design and/or product development is required.
- Experience in sports equipment testing or product development (particularly footwear) is strongly desired.
- Advanced degree in appropriate field may satisfy the test experience requirement.
Technical Background:
- Communication - Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audience is required. Strong presentation skills are desired.
- Personal Computers - Experience in use of PC based spreadsheets and word processing programs (Word & Excel for Windows).
- Testing Methods - Experience with product testing, materials testing or experimental design required. Experience with statistical analysis of data is also required.
- Instrumentation - Experience with basic instrumentation equipment.
- Footwear/Equipment - Experience with footwear or sports equipment testing and/or production desired.
Leadership:
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Strong team management skills
- Project management experience
