Ames Gross - President and founder. Mr. Gross founded
PBI in 1988 and has been involved in recruiting and human resources
issues in Asia for over 2 decades. He has written articles for
SHRM Global Forum (Washington, DC), Benefits and Compensation
International (London), China Economic Review (London), International
HR Journal (New York City), HR Magazine (Washington, DC), and
HR Focus (New York City). Mr. Gross has given speeches on Asian
recruiting and human resources issues for the Society for Human
Resources Management (SHRM, Washington, DC), the National Foreign
Trade Council (NFTC, New York City) and other human resources
organizations. Prior to establishing PBI, Mr. Gross gained broad
experience, knowledge, and contacts in Asia while working on
Wall Street at First Boston Corp., Salomon Brothers, Inc., and
Smith Barney. Mr. Gross has a BA degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from
the University of Pennsylvania (1978) and an MBA from Columbia
University (1982).
Akiko Miyoshi - Senior Vice President. Ms. Miyoshi works on consulting and recruiting projects and conducts research. She graduated with a B.E. in Industrial Chemistry from Seikei University (Tokyo, Japan) and has an MBA from Georgetown University. Ms. Miyoshi speaks Japanese.
Andrew Connor – Vice President. Mr. Connor manages recruiting and consulting projects and works on research and writing. He graduated summa cum laude from Hamilton College with a B.A. in Chinese Language and Russian Studies. Prior to joining PBI, Mr. Connor was in charge of finance and operations at a non-profit legal aid organization. He speaks Mandarin Chinese and has spent time studying and working in China, Bangladesh, and the UK.
Angela Chan - Senior Associate. Ms. Chan conducts research and works on recruiting projects. She is also responsible for marketing PBI’s business on our website. She graduated with a B.S. in Biotechnology from The University of Hong Kong and has a M.A. in Journalism from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining PBI, Ms. Chan worked as a Client Executive at an international public relations agency in Hong Kong. She speaks Cantonese Chinese and Mandarin Chinese.
Kaori Yamaguchi - Senior Associate. Ms. Yamaguchi works on PBI’s recruiting assignments and does research on human resource consulting. She also works on web development for PBI. Ms. Yamaguchi graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN). She speaks Japanese
Katherine Wu – Associate. Ms. Wu works on recruiting and consulting projects as well as research and writing assignments. She graduated with a B.A. from the University of Michigan, majoring in Psychology and Political Science, and minoring in Asian Languages and Cultures. Ms. Wu speaks Mandarin Chinese.
Karrie Wang - Senior Associate. Ms. Wang works on recruiting projects for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. She graduated with a B.A. from Shanghai International Studies University and has an M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University. Ms. Wang speaks Mandarin Chinese.
John Minot - Associate. Mr. Minot works on research and writing projects. He graduated with a B.A. in Government and East Asian Studies from Cornell University. He lived and studied in Kyoto and Tokyo, Japan for one year. Mr. Minot speaks Japanese.
Momoko Hirose - Associate. Ms. Hirose works on research and writing projects. She graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Brown University. Ms. Hirose speaks Japanese.
